The new year, 2025, is just around the corner, bringing a wave of exciting game releases for Xbox. While GTA VI might be the most anticipated title, there are plenty of other must-play games to look forward to. In this article, I’ll highlight some of the top upcoming Xbox releases that you won’t want to miss!
GTA VI: One of the Best Xbox Titles Coming in 2025
There is no question about this one—almost everybody wants to play GTA VI, the next installment in the GTA series by Rockstar. It has been almost a year since the reveal of GTA VI (the first trailer came out in December 2023), in which it was mentioned that GTA VI would be released in 2025, but there wasn’t any exact date as to when it would hit the stores. Some rumors at the time suggested that GTA VI would be released on April 1, 2025, but that has now been debunked. New rumors suggest that GTA VI will be released in November 2025 (again, there’s no exact date here). I am pretty sure you’d NOT want to miss out on this title, so you might as well start saving up for it right now.
GTA VI will be released for consoles (Xbox Series X|S, PS5) first and then for PC.
Atomfall
If you are a survival-action game enthusiast, then this game might be just for you! Atomfall is an entirely new game, which is being worked on by the company Rebellion (which is again owned by Xbox). The game is set during the aftermath of a nuclear disaster (sounds a lot like Fallout 76) in remote Northern England. The game will be available across all platforms including Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC starting March 2025. The game will be accessible via Xbox Game Pass the day it gets released.

Gears of War: E-Day: One of the Best Homegrown Titles for Xbox in 2025
The upcoming game in the Gears of War franchise is Gears of War: Emergence Day! Most people think GoW stands for God of War but I don’t think Sony has patented on this matter so yeah, GoW is Gears of War around here! While there has been no official announcement regarding this game’s release date, there sure have been speculations that it will be released sometime around the end of the year (preferably October 2025). The game is a prequel to the story of Gears of War 1, set 14 years before its events. Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago return home to face the Locust Horde. So, get comfortable on the sofa and let the mayhem begin! Chainsaw those zombies in half with your Lancer!
Doom: The Dark Ages
Doom: The Dark Ages continues the legendary Doom series, this time only on the new gen. Once again, you can go on a slaying journey with the legendary Doom Slayer while listening to a pumping soundtrack! Grab your controller, get comfortable on your couch, crank up the TV volume, order a pizza or something, and get ready to save your planet from the forces of HELL!

The highly anticipated Black Ops 2 sequel will continue the storyline in 4K 120FPS on the new-gen consoles.
Call of Duty 2025 will be in 2035, ten years after the events of Black Ops 2, with David Mason as the main character!
