Want to stream your own game on Xbox Cloud Gaming? It’s now possible with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
Microsoft has added a significant new feature for the subscribers of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, allowing them to stream certain games they already own via Xbox Cloud Gaming on web browsers. With this update, you will be able to stream titles that you already own on supported devices and the initial lineup is looking pretty solid.
Xbox Game Pass 2024 Highlights
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate has made some real progress in 2024. One of the remarkable highlights is that Microsoft unlocked access to the Standard Edition of Call of Duty Black Ops 6 on day one for its subscribers. After Microsoft cracked the deal with Activision and Blizzard a couple of months ago, lots of interesting titles including Diablo 4 and Spyro Reignited Trilogy have made their way into the subscription service. The only debatable decision made by Microsoft was the exclusion of ‘day one access to new releases’ from the Standard tier of Xbox Game Pass.

Stream Your Own Game: Access Owned Games on Xbox Cloud Gaming
The feature of streaming owned games via Xbox Cloud Gaming is currently in beta but it seems promising. The titles supporting this feature include Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy, etc., and some of these titles are not even included in Xbox Game Pass. Here’s how it works. Let’s say you own Hogwarts Legacy. This game is nowhere to be seen on any tier of Game Pass. However, with the ‘Stream your own game’ feature, you can play this game on the go by simply logging in to your Microsoft Account on a web browser.
- Head to the official Xbox website.
- Sign in to your Microsoft Account. You must have an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription for this feature to work.
- Hover over the ‘Game Pass’ option, a drop-down menu will appear then select ‘Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta)’, which will be the last option on this menu.
- Click the ‘PLAY NOW’ button on the top right corner of the page.
- You will be taken to the homepage of Xbox Cloud Gaming. Scroll until you find the option that says ‘Stream your own game’. Simply pick a game from the list of supported ones and you are good to go!
Microsoft has planned to port this functionality to Xbox consoles and Xbox app for Windows, along with more titles added to the list, in 2025.
Xbox Game Pass Recent Highlights
The highly anticipated Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 made its entry to Xbox Game Pass, along with STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Although the updated flight simulator faced a pretty rough takeoff, STALKER 2 has been able to garner positive reviews.
Coming to the perks section, Game Pass subscribers have received a reward bundle on Genshin Impact, which again made its way to Xbox consoles in November. With future updates of the game, Microsoft has plans to give away even more rewards.
