Minecraft can be purchased directly from the Microsoft Store. You can access both Java and Bedrock Editions of the game on any Windows 10/11 powered PC/laptop after logging in with the Microsoft Account that you purchased the game on.
You will also need a valid payment method linked to your Microsoft Account if you wish to purchase Minecraft on the Microsoft Store. Supported payment methods vary across regions, so you also need to ensure that your wallet or debit/credit card type is accepted on the Microsoft Store.
To get started, you will need a Microsoft Account. Create one if you don’t have one already.
Create a Microsoft Account to Buy Minecraft in Nepal
- Head to microsoft.com on your web browser and tap on the ‘Sign In’ button located at the top right corner of the screen.
- Once you are logged in to your Microsoft Account, you will come back to the Home page. Click on the ‘Search’ option (top right) and type in ‘Minecraft Bedrock’. Select this option from the list of apps.

- Click on the Choose Edition option and select your preferred edition from the drop-down menu. Nobody really picks up the Deluxe Edition so you might as well stick to the Standard one. Just select ‘Minecraft: Java and Bedrock Edition for PC’ from the drop-down menu.
- Click on the ‘BUY’ option. You will then be prompted to choose a Gamertag for your Xbox profile. Either choose one among the generated or type one out for yourself.
Keep in mind that you can only change this Gamertag just once for free (if you have already used up your ‘Free Gamertag Change’ ticket, you will have to pay a $10 fee every time you wish to change it). People don’t really change their Gamertags often so pick something that you won’t regret over later.

Nepalese banks don’t issue USD cards unless you specifically ask them and to make things worse, these USD cards levy extra charges here and there, which isn’t really fair but those banks don’t care. Therefore, I would definitely refrain from getting a USD card just to buy Minecraft.
- If you have a family, friend, or relative living in Australia (for instance), you could ask for their card details. Not everyone will give away their card details but you can always request because it’s for a good cause. Just make sure you make the purchase in Microsoft Store Australia. When creating your Microsoft Account, make sure your country is set to Australia and you will also need to enter an Australian address later.
